Samplin'

Here is a sample track that I made using Kontact 5. This track used a few samples that I took while in class for a work shop we did I decided to quickly add it here as a base for a song that I can work on in the future. I think it would be a cool bridge to a more conventional song that had a few other samples in it kinda like the music that I write to give it weird vibe.

All the samples were taken with a zoom recorder by myself and Mike my class mate.

This screen shot shows the busses that I set up to create delay and reverb for the 'haha' sounds and the chimes which make up most of the track. I also applied a reverb to the drums to make them sound less muffled.

This is the sampler I made for the chimes in the song

I took most of the samples of human sounds such as laughing and talking then I used the sampler to maker them into instruments. I think that they are abit pitchy sometimes as I had to work out what the pitch of the sample was in order to make the instruments in tune. This was a fun little thing that I made that I want to come back to because I think its cool.

More over my love of Logic has made me realise that not all the stock standard plug in's it comes with are the best ones to use. This Kontact sampler is much easier to use and more creative than the one that Logic comes with and I would have never used it if it wasn't for the sampling workshop that we did.

Here is the sample of the kick drum that I made using a sample I took of me hitting a door with my hand
